Class Descriptions

The History and Mystery of Tarot

The cards are a tool for guidance and a story in symbols for us to read. This workshop covers the history of Tarot, the mystery surrounding the cards, and their origin and use as we know them. It covers the many derivations of Tarot decks created in the last 20 years, and explores similarities and differences between various decks.

It is also an in-depth workshop on the structure of the Tarot cards, including the four elements, the history of the Court Cards, and the story of the Fool's Journey through the Major Arcana. We will also touch upon the relationship between Tarot cards, numerology, astrology, and the Cabalah.

Some knowledge of numerology and astrology is helpful, though not required. A summary handout is provided, however note-taking is encouraged.

Class size: 6 to 30 participants.

Class duration: the class lasts about three hours with time for a break built in.

Class cost: $20.00 per person.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 10.00 per person is required. If fewer than 5 people register, we will cancel the class and I'll refund the deposit minus a $5.00 booking fee. Cash or check requested for the remainder of the fee at the door.

Finding Your Authentic Self— An Interactive Tarot Workshop Using the Court Cards and Major Arcana

The Court Cards, or “Pips” as they are sometimes called, have different meanings for different writers and readers, depending on the deck, the layout, and on how we were each taught. Sometimes they are a person in our lives, sometimes they represent ourselves, or a part of ourselves, and sometimes they represent an event.

In this workshop, they will represent what we most are and want to be now, what we least like about ourselves, or an obstacle to our most authentic self at this time.

A Major Arcana card will be selected to help us reach our fondest desire and integrate our light and shadowselves.

In a small group setting, we will each have a chance to intuitively read our cards. Then each group member will give us feedback. Class size is limited to 15.

People attending should bring a journal and pen, and a Tarot deck or two if they wish. In this workshop, it's best to use a deck you're not familiar with. If you're not willing to share your deck with others, I will have several available for common use.

Class size: 6 to 20 participants.

Class duration: the class lasts about three hours with time for a break built in.

How to Read Cards, Any Kind of Cards

This class will teach the fundamentals and subtleties of how to read cards. Each person should bring their own deck(s), though there will be several loaner decks available for use. Decks may include any Tarot deck, Medicine Cards, Fairy or Goddess Oracles or any other divinatory cards participants may be using.
 
The goal of this class is to blend the art of science of reading cards, and to more finely develop your own intuition. A highly participatory class -- we'll be sharing decks, reading in partnerships, and working in small groups.

For beginning and advanced students alike. Includes both This class is experiential, teaching many layouts and divination and meditation techniques to become more intuitive in your readings.

I'll provide lots of decks to practice with. Pease bring one of yours if you have one.

Class size: 5 to 15 people.

Class duration: the class lasts about six hours. It can be held on one day, with a large break for luch/dinner, or it can be taught in two sessions on two different days.

Class cost: $30.00 per person.

Everything You Need to Know About Layouts (Tarot and Oracle)

This class will teach the fundamentals and subtleties of how to use various layouts to read cards. The goal is to choose the appropriate layout for a question, concern, or issue.

Each person should bring their own deck(s), though there will be several loaner decks available for use. Decks may include any Tarot deck , Medicine Cards, Fairy or Goddess Oracles, or any other divinatory cards participants may be using.

We will focus on the use of patterns for finding the perfect layout. The layouts, in turn, will reflect patterns back to us in elements, directions, destiny and court cards.

Class size: 5 to 25 people.

Class duration: the class lasts about six hours. It can be held on one day, with a large break for luch/dinner, or it can be taught in two sessions on two different days.

Class cost: $30.00 per person; includes handouts.
